People had a lot to say about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle this year.

On Monday (December 15), Harper's Bazaar reported the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were the most tweeted about royals of 2020. The outlet's intel comes from Twitter data provided exclusively to BAZAAR.com. With more than 20 million tweets posted about the British royal family this year—an increase of 30% from 2019—Meghan and Harry came out on top.

While Meghan took the number one spot as the most tweeted about royal of 2020, her husband wasn't far behind. Queen Elizabeth came in third, while Princess Diana came in fourth. Surprisingly, Kate Middleton and Prince William didn't even make the top five. Prince Charles followed his ex-wife in the fifth slot.

"There has always been a steady conversation about the royals on Twitter, but this year we've seen the appetite for royal information, stories, and history explode," Jenna Ross, Twitter's senior manager of entertainment partnerships, told Harper's Bazaar. "The season four release of the Crown on Netflix majorly contributed to this conversation, with fans coming together on Twitter to talk about the new episodes and share their reactions, generating over half a million Tweets about the series since its premiere."

Prince Andrew, who no longer makes public appearances on behalf of his mother after his close friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein made headlines this year, came in sixth. Next came Prince William in seventh place, followed by Kate. Prince Philip came in ninth, while Princess Charlotte—the only royal kid in the top ten—rounded out the list.
