A Florida woman got an early Christmas surprise in her home. Don't worry, it wasn't an alligator or a snake. It was something much furrier.

WPTV reported that Aubrey Iacobelli woke up to her dog growling last Thursday (December 10) early in the morning.

"I have a doggy door and my dog sleeps right in front of that dog door. I hear her going in and out all night. I wake up and I hear her barking outside," Iacobelli said. After asking her Amazon Echo device to turn on the lights, she saw her pet staring down the Christmas tree. Initially, Iacobelli thought it was a cat.

"I just knew that there was something there, that shouldn't have been there. I see a furry body in the Christmas tree," she said. "I didn't want to hurt the animal. I just wanted it outside of the house." The Florida resident told reporters she grabbed a frying pain to try and get the animal out of the tree.

That's when the the creature came out and revealed itself: a raccoon. Iacobelli's dog jumped at the unexpected guest, knocking over the tree. "The raccoon ran away from freedom. Jumped on my chandelier where it swung there for like 30 minutes," she said. The raccoon eventually escaped through the dog door after an hour-long chase around the house.

The Florida resident told reporters not to do this on your own if you end up in a situation like this. Just call Animal Control!
