San Antonio residents will get a chance to drive through snow this weekend.
No, snow isn't in the forecast. Centro is bringing 110,400 pounds of ice to the city to create the magical feeling of snow this holiday season. This is courtesy of Mireles Ice.
Andres Andujar, Hemisfair CEO, told KSAT, "We wanted to provide a free experience for the community to celebrate the holidays in a safe and socially distant way. This inclusive celebration will offer something for everyone, whether you want a selfie with Santa from the safety of your vehicle or to witness the wonder of the festival of lights."
Guests will be able to snap a socially distanced photo with Santa Claus himself. There will be carolers from the American Caroling Company along with decorations, reindeer and other animals, a drum circle, music, and jumping elves.
The event will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 19th.
The event is free to the public.
Vehicles should enter the event at East Cesar E. Chavez and Hemisfair Boulevard.
The first 100 vehicles will receive a free bag of kettle corn.
