The ex-wife of Jeff Bezos made a charitable donation to an Arizona organization.
Officials with the United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona announced on December 15th that McKenzie Scott gifted $10 million to the organization.
The statement said that the donation did not come with any conditions, but that the organization has a plan for the donation. It will go to fight racial and economic disparities, address COVID-19 relief, and meet other pressing community needs.
This is the largest donation that the organization has ever received, reported Fox 10 Phoenix.
The United Way of Tucson is one of 384 non-profit organizations that will be benefitted from Scott's donations.
That isn't the only organization in Arizona that will get a chunk of her wealth.
Other Arizona organizations that she donated to include Valley of the Sun United Way, YMCA of Southern Arizona, and YWCA of Southern Arizona.
Bezos and Scott announced their divorce in January of 2019. Scott tweeted on April 9th that she had finished the divorce papers. She has said that she is committed to giving away the majority of her wealth in her lifetime.
