Texas Student Remote Learning Killed After Car Crashes Into Home

A tragic accident led to the death of a local teenager.

A student from Greenville High School was killed on Monday while doing distance learning. According to district officials, a car crashed into the student's house.

Aramis Mora was a senior at Greenville High School, and learning virtually at the time of the incident.

Officials said that Mora grew up attending schools in the Greenville Independent School District for her entire academic career.

School officials said in a statement, "Aramis attended GISD schools her entire academic life, starting as a kindergartener at Crockett. She also attended Carver, Sixth Grade Center and Greenville Middle School. She was known for her sweet, calm spirit and for being an excellent student with a special interest in art and fashion design."

A candlelight vigil will be held for Mora. It will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 17th at the family's home located at 4701 Henry Street.

District officials said, "Our prayers go out to Aramis, her family, and all those who love her. We will all miss this special young woman."

Crisis counselors were on campus Tuesday providing support to both students and staff.
