Miley Cyrus performed a new rendition of her song “Plastic Hearts” live from her backyard.
The superstar revived her “Backyard Sessions” series to deliver the title track from her highly-acclaimed new rock album, Plastic Hearts. For the laid-back presentation, Cyrus, wearing a silver sequin dress adorned with red heart patterns, lounges back on a grass-covered couch while belting out the song as her guitarist strums the chords.
“Frightened by my own reflection/ Desperate for a new connection/ Pull you in but don’t you get too close/ Love you now but not tomorrow/ Wrong to steal but not to borrow/ Pull you in but don’t you get too close,” Cyrus sings before roaring on the catchy chorus, “I’ve been California dreaming/ Plastic hearts are bleeding … lost in black hole conversation/ Sunrise suffocation.”
Upon its release in November, Cyrus' Plastic Hearts became a huge hit with Smilers and rock fans alike, having debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Rock Albums chart with 60,000 units sold. "It’s official. #PlasticHearts is the #1 rock record in the country," tweeted at the time. "My mind is blown and my heart is overwhelmed with gratitude. Thank YOU to every creative collaborator involved on this project! If one person was missing I would not be writing this message."
The project features 12 new songs and sees the Disney alum unleashing her inner rock star with the likes of Joan Jett (“Bad Karma”), Billy Idol (“Rebel Yell”) Stevie Nicks (“Edge of Midnight” (Midnight Sky Remix)) and Dua Lipa (“Prisoner”).
