Fans will have to wait a while longer before they get to see Maren Morris perform live again.
On Friday (December 18), the country star turned to social media to announce that her previously postponed RSVP tour is now canceled altogether due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"Hi Darlings," Morris began a statement. "There is so much hope with this vaccine being distributed in 2021, but we are still unsure of when we will be able to do the tour next year."
"With the prospect of, yet again, rescheduling half of the dates already becoming a reality, I have decided to cancel the RSVP tour," she continued, adding that fans who hold tickets will be receiving a full refund.
While fans won't be able to see Morris perform live any time soon, the country star does confirm that new music is on the way.
"I truly appreciate your patience on this," she added. "I am in the midst of working on my third record, so I hope we can all come together and enjoy live shows safely again soon. Love you so much."
Morris' latest new music arrived in October with the release of her powerful song, "Better Than We Found It." The track, written by Morris alongside Jessie Jo Dillon, Jimmy Robbins and Laura Veltz, challenges listeners to come together to make a positive change in the world. Morris questions if her future self will look back and be proud of how she's living her life now.
"When time turns this moment to dust / I just hope that I'm proud of the woman I was / When lines of tomorrow are drawn / Can I live with the side that I chose to be on?" Morris sings in the chorus. "Will we sit on our hands doing nothing about it / Or will we leave this world better than we found it?"
"I think the world right now is sort of in a perpetual mourning period and I wanted to have a song that had weight but also had hope," Morris previously said of the track. "I still have hope for this country and for the future of it, and as a new mother I wanted to promise my son that I’m going to do everything in my power to leave this world better than the one I came into and the one I see right now."
Outside of music, Morris has been keeping busy at home with her husband, Ryan Hurd, and their baby boy Hayes Andrew. The "Girl" signer recently opened up with People about life as a first-time mother, revealing she hit the parenting jackpot with Hayes.
"Ryan and I are both pretty laid back. We kind of lucked out having a very chill baby," the singer told People. "We’re pretty chill people, so maybe that’s reflected in our kid. We’re learning every day."
