A cat named Gray C. must have really missed its owners because it trekked more than 200 miles across Texas to find them.
Vikki and Eugene Braun, of Burnet, rehomed Gray C. and another cat with a friend who owns a ranch in Terrell last month since they weren't exactly indoor pets.
"We thought because they weren’t 'pet' cats, they wanted to live outside. We thought, well, maybe they'd rather live in the barn," Eugene told Fox 7 in Austin.
Gray C. had another idea, because a day after the Brauns left her a the ranch, the cat went missing.
A week later Gray C. found her way into the Braun's house via the doggie door. The couple first thought a neighbor's cat got into their home. Nope, it was Gray C., who was OK but had a broke leg.
"I picked it up and I was like 'this is Gray C.!' He was sleeping and I’m like, 'Gene, Gray C.’s home!'" said Vikki.
Gray C. made the more than 220 mile trip from Terrell to Burnet.
Maybe Gray C. hitchhiked, or jumped a train heading south, or found two dogs to recreate the movie Homeward Bound with. How Gray C. made it home is anyone's guess.
