DaBaby is the latest star to plan his early retirement.

The rapper, whose Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper “Rockstar” featuring Roddy Ricch became the anthem of the year — says he’ll be dropping the mic for good in the next five years. DaBaby touched on his plans to retire in a recent interview, revealing how he intends to dominate the rap industry from behind the scenes.

"During the pandemic, I've been the longest-lasting artist on Billboard, fo'sho," boasted the 29-year-old, whose third studio album Blame It On Baby debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in April. "So, I feel like I definitely adapted to it and made it happen. I like the results of, you know, the work I put in during the pandemic fo'sho."

The “Suge” star, who is also the founder of Billion Dollar Baby Entertainment, revealed that he wants to use his star power to uplift other artists, including his own acts Stunna 4 Vegas, DJ K.i.D, Wisdom, KayyKilo, and Rich Dunk.

"Billion Dollar Baby Entertainment, five years, definitely gonna be like one of the hottest labels in the game," asserted DaBaby, who sees a bigger vision for himself outside of spitting hard rhymes that empower his community. "Five years, I'ma be retired in five years," he reveals. "I won't be rapping in five years. I won't be rapping. I'll be creating other superstars."

DaBaby’s hard work has paid off handsomely for the North Carolina emcee, who has received four nominations at the 2021 Grammys including Best Rap Song and Record of the Year.
