St. Louis Police: Woman Assaulted A Deputy Who Asked Her To Wear A Mask

Authorities are on the lookout for a woman accused of hitting a sheriff’s deputy with a baton after he told her she couldn’t enter a gas station unless she wore a mask.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department released footage and images of the woman on Monday (December 28), following the alleged assault on Christmas Day (December 25). It happened at a Shell Gas Station on North Tucker Boulevard.

The deputy was working security at the station where the woman entered without wearing a mask, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. The woman “became belligerent when the victim informed the suspect that the suspect could not enter the business without a mask.”

Incident: Robbery 2nd / Assault 2nd – Special Victim Location: 721 N. Tucker (Shell Gas Station) Date/Time: 12/25/20 @ 2352 Victim: 59-year-old Black Female Suspect: Black Female, 6'1" to 6'2", 190 to 200 lbs, wearing a black 3/4 length coat, a dark shirt, black pants, and long straight black hair (possible wig) The victim stated she was working security at the above location when the suspect entered the business without wearing a mask. The victim stated the suspect became belligerent when the victim informed the suspect that the suspect could not enter the business without a mask. The victim stated the suspect pushed the victim as the suspect exited the store and then began striking the victim with a closed fist. The suspect took the victim’s baton and then struck the victim, causing a concussion. The suspect then entered a red vehicle and fled the scene. EMS responded however the victim declined medical attention. The investigation is ongoing.

The woman pushed the deputy while exiting the gas station “and then began striking the victim with a closed fist,” the department continued. “The suspect took the victim’s baton and then struck the victim, causing a concussion.”

The woman fled the scene in a red vehicle and the victim declined medical attention when EMS responded, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

Officials are still investigating the incident.
