A homeless man is accused of robbing a Miami man trying to help him over Christmas weekend, according to NBC Miami.
The day after Christmas (December 26), 24-year-old Jose Cabeza was FaceTiming with his girlfriend while walking between his home and a gas station. Cabeza told reporters a homeless man, 48-year-old Richard Williams called out to him and asked for money.
That's when the homeless man pulled a knife on Cabeza. Williams allegedly snatched Cabeza's chain and took credit cards, a debit card and $24 cash from the victim's wallet.
“I don’t know why he didn’t rob my iPhone,” Cabeza said. “I guess because he knew you could track an iPhone and he was smart in that point.” The entire robbery was captured during the FaceTime call, as well. Cabeza said his girlfriend took pictures and video of the knife-wielding suspect.
“She was very scared, and she said go home, go home,” the 24-year-old said. “When I got home, we just kept talking, I was crying because I was very scared.”
After the media was submitted to police the following day, Williams was arrested. There's no word on what charges he will face.
