A South Florida rapper was granted bond after being accused of kidnapping a couple back in October, according to NBC Miami.
A judge ruled that Kejuan Brandon Campbell, known as Splash Zanotti, can go free until his trial if he pays a $250,000 bond, reporters say. Two other men allegedly involved, Dionte Alexander-Wilcox and Antonio James, have upcoming hearings. Records show they were arrested earlier this month.
Three men broke into a Miramar's couple's home on October 11. During a Monday hearing (December 28), prosectors said "Alexander-Wilcox and James held the husband at gunpoint while Campbell drove the wife around town trying to get $20,000 from her bank accounts," NBC Miami wrote.
“This wasn’t for a couple hours or a couple minutes. This was for a full day. They stayed overnight, ate food, drank their liquor," Assistant United States Attorney Ajay Alexander said during Monday's hearing.
Attorney Gary Ira Rosenberg claims Campbell may be could get a lower bond based on "certain facts," but authorities said a confession from Alexander-Wilcox implicates all three men. Prosecutors also claim Alexander-Wilcox admitted to raping the wife that day, adding that they have "his statements" and "semen."
Campbell wasn't the only rapper who got in trouble with the law in the Sunshine State this year. Well-known rapper Pooh Shiesty was allegedly involved in a double shooting in Bay Harbor Islands in October. A member of the group Pretty Ricky was charged for his alleged role in a COVID-19 relief loan scheme.
