A male nurse at a hospital in Indonesia has reportedly suspended after he admitted to stripping off his personal protective equipment to have sex with a male patient who was being treated at the hospital for COVID-19.

“It is true that there has been a suspected incident of a same-sex relationship between a health worker and a COVID-19 patient at the Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital,” said Asep Gunawan of the National Nurses Association via Indonesia Expat.

Gunawan confirmed the incident was brought to the NNA by management at the hospital after the patient reportedly confessed to the incident in a tweet shared on his now-private Twitter account last Friday (December 25.)

The patient uploaded a screenshot of his conversation with the now-suspended nurse, which went viral. Both the patient and nurse were questioned after the post was shared, with both men admitting to meeting up to have sex in a toilet at the Wisma Atlet quarantine facility in Jakarta.

Both the nurse and patient were arrested and immediately asked to do a PCR swab test before being placed in police custody, which revealed the patient was still positive for COVID-19 while the nurse tested negative, according to Lieutenant Colonel Arh Herwin BS, head of information at the Regional Military Command, via Indonesia Expat.
