A New England ski mountain recently ranked among the best in the United States.

Killington Ski Resort in Vermont ranked No. 11 nationally among 450 ski resorts considered for the American Ski Index ranked by Koala, an online marketplace for travelers and timeshare owners.

Koala said it considered several factors while compiling its list including annual snowfall, length of runs, number of lifts, adult ski pass cost, review ratings and Instagram hashtags. Killington was credited for having 19 lifts, 383,202 feet of runs and a cost of $130 for adult ski passes.

The resort was also included in a total of 228,621 Instagram hashtags. Four other New England resorts were also included in the top 50: Sunday River in Maine ranked No. 24 overall; Stowe in Vermont ranked No. 34; Jay Peak in Vermont ranked No. 42; and Smugglers' Notch in Vermont ranked No. 46.

Park City in Utah topped the list as the No. 1 ski resort in the United States.

"While the slops will always be the main attraction for any ski resort, these days, travelers place a big emphasis on how photogenic their destination is," the website wrote. "That's why we've also looked at the resorts which are mentioned in the highest number of Instagram posts, with Park City coming out on top again with over 1 million Insta posts."
