Bobby Shmurda may soon be a free man!
According to TMZ, the 26-year-old rapper, who is currently behind bars at New York's Clinton Correctional Facility, could be released as early as February 23 — ten months earlier than his scheduled release date.
Law enforcement sources told the outlet the decision to shorten Bobby's sentence was made by the Time Allowance Committee, which consists of prison staff, but not the parole board. The committee reportedly decided to bump up the "Hot N***a" rapper's conditional release after reviewing his "behavior and participation in prison programs."
If Bobby is released early, he'll be under parole supervision, TMZ noted. However, the site also reported that if Bobby has any behavioral issues between now and February 23, his early release could be reversed, and "he'd likely have to serve out his full sentence until December 11, 2021."
As fans know, Bobby, whose real name is Ackquille Jean Pollard, was denied parole in September due to multiple behavioral issues, including drug and weapon possession as well as fighting. News of his possible conditional release comes weeks after Bobby's associate Rowdy Rebel was released from prison.
Back in 2016, Bobby pled guilty to conspiracy to commit murder, reckless endangerment, and drug and gun possession and was sentenced to seven years behind bars. He was given credit for time served since he was arrested in December 2014.
Bobby was accused of leading street gang GS9, which police said was responsible for several shootings and one murder. Fourteen others, including the rapper’s brother, Jayese, were also arrested in connection with various crimes pertaining to the gang.
