Longtime Cleveland sports fans are celebrating the Browns after the team made the NFL playoffs for the first time in nearly two decades.

“The NFL’s longest playoff drought is over: For the first time since 2002, the #Browns are in the playoffs,” said podcaster Ian Rapoport, a national insider for the NFL network.

The Browns’ 18-year hiatus in the playoffs ends here, and naturally, fans — even celebrities and other professional athletes — had to congratulate the team.

Another Cleveland champ, for example, LeBron James, took to Twitter to congratulate the playoff-bound team with a word of advice:

“Playoff bound! Congrats @Browns!! Yessir!!!!! Don’t be satisfied though! #Browns,” the former Cleveland Cavs star and Akron native said.

Sunday night (January 3), the Browns shared in the excitement on social media, marking the day that “THE DROUGHT IS OVER” and committing to keeping the energy going in the locker room after the game.

“I am proud of you… was the goal ever just to go to the playoffs? You got more in you? Good. Because I’m gonna need it.”

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski reportedly said the victory made him “really just happy for our fans. They deserve this.”

The Browns are slated to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, January 10.
