With Prices Surging, The Dallas Housing Market Is Thriving Going Into 2021

The housing market in Dallas-Fort Worth is thriving right now heading into the new year.
Local realtor Marie Bailey told CBS DFW that the booming market is due, in part, to the large number of people from California moving into the state.
Bailey said, "I specialize in Californians moving here. I would say 99.9% of my clients are from California moving to Texas.
Bailey leads a Facebook group that is dedicated to the large number of relocating Californians, and says that the pandemic and lockdown is forcing some to move out of the state. "There's a lot of demand right now. Last week when I took out some clients there were lines out the door looking at some of the houses."
Marvin Jolly, a local realtor that chairs the Texas Association of Realtors, said that people moving to the state are moving here because of the cost of living, strong school districts, and entertainment attractions. Jolly said, "The demand in the area is just off the charts. Meanwhile the supply is also at a record low."
Jolly says that the market right now is a seller's market that "is kind of like winning the lottery right now for sellers."

Not even the holidays can slow down the housing market in DFW right now. Many realtors tell CBS 11 News that out-of-state buyers are driving the demand. https://t.co/HWYREFQsW9 pic.twitter.com/ShxgjAMhLq
