Arizona Is The State With The Highest Rate Of New Covid-19 Cases

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Arizona currently has the highest rate of new COVID-19 cases in all of the United States.

Arizona saw a rate of 121.8 positive cases per 100,000 people. This was higher than any other state in the country, the CDC's COVID Data Tacker said on Monday afternoon.

The Data Tracker shows that California has the second-highest rate, with 97.1 new cases per 100,000 people over the last seven days.

The average rate of new cases in the United States is 64.7 cases per 100.000 people, reports AZ Central.

Here are the top five states for the highest rates of new cases of COVID-19 in the nation:

  1. Arizona
  2. California
  3. Tennessee
  4. South Carolina
  5. Kansas

Over the last week, Arizona had over 62,047 positive cases of COVID-19. This includes more than 17,200 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, which is the record high for a single day.

As of Monday morning, 61% of Arizona's ICU beds were occupied by COVID-19 patients.

9,064 Arizonans have died from the virus as of Monday, according to the data dashboard from the Arizona Department of Health Services.
