Three Detroit police officers are among the four victims hospitalized after a car crash Wednesday morning (January 6).

The accident happened around 8 a.m. at an intersection near Interstate 96. The three law enforcement officials were driving in a police SUV on Meyers Road to help another officer in the area. That's when a westbound van, whose driver is a man in his 30s, hit them at the Schoolcraft intersection, according to authorities.

The van hit the SUV that the officers were traveling in “T-bone-style,” Fox 2 reported.

All four individuals involved in the collision were transported to a hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Though everyone is expected to be OK, the officer sitting in the back seat could have a broken leg, according to Local4.

"I'm just thankful it appears everyone's going to be fine from the accident," Detroit Police Department Cpt. Michael Chambers said. "The officers were out trying to assist a fellow officer. It's just an unfortunate accident and we're just glad that no one was too seriously hurt."

It was not immediately clear which vehicle could have been at fault for the crash. Investigators are still reviewing the scene, including footage.
