On Thursday (January 7), Tom Parker took to Instagram to share an update about his ongoing battle with glioblastoma. The 32-year-old former member of The Wanted revealed his tumor has undergone a "significant reduction" since he began treatment.

“I had an MRI scan on Tuesday and my results today were a significant reduction to the tumor and I am responding well to treatment," Parker wrote in his update. "Every day I’m keeping on the fight to shrink this b*****d! I can’t thank our wonderful NHS enough. You’re all having a tough time out there but we appreciate the work you are all doing on the front line. To my amazing wife [Kelsey] who has literally been my rock. My babies—I fight for you every second of every day.”

Parker first shared the news of his diagnosis with fans back in October. "We are all absolutely devastated but we are gonna fight this all the way,” Parker wrote on Instagram at the time. “We don't want your sadness, we just want love and positivity and together we will raise awareness of this terrible disease and look for all available treatment options." The singer was diagnosed with a stage four glioblastoma tumor after suffering two seizures over the summer.

In an interview with OK! Magazine, Parker revealed his doctors told him the tumor was terminal and described his diagnosis as the “worst-case scenario.” According to the Brain Tumor Charity, the average survival time for those with a glioblastoma tumor is between one year and 18 months.
