People often think about the "where" when it comes to raising a family. School systems, taxes, career opportunities and other features are something to consider when making the big change. Some states in America may have better features than others.
WalletHub did a study help people figure out where it's best to raise their unit, ranking each state from No. 1 (best) to No. 50 (worst). They looked at factors like income, unemployment rates and housing affordability.
So where does Oregon rank?
According to the website, the Beaver State came in the No. 21 spot. It was also No. 6 when it came to "Health & Safety." Researchers pointed out that the state was among others with the least affordable housing, as well as the lowest infant mortality.
When it comes to Oregon's neighbors, Nevada (No. 41) was considered one of the worst for raising a family. Washington, on the other hand, made it into the Top 10 on the list. California was ranked at No. 25, and Idaho was placed at No. 34.
"While the COVID-19 pandemic has made moving difficult at the moment, a vaccine is on the horizon," writer Adam McCann said. "Hopefully by late 2021, families can start considering moving to a state that will better fit their needs and desires."
Here is the Top 10 from the list:
