Chicagoans will soon get to meet a new morning show contributor on “The Fred Show” on 103.5 KISS FM.

Kristie Graybill is joining “The Fred Show” team, starting Monday (January 11). Listeners can catch her each weekday morning from 5 a.m. to noon.

“I want to genuinely thank the team at iHeartMedia Chicago for giving me this opportunity and believing in me,” Graybill said in a press release. “I am thrilled to be working with Fred on such a legendary station. This is the best show for my type of unfiltered personality, and I am excited to join the team.”

Graybill comes to Chicago from iHeartMedia St. Louis’ Z017.7, where she served as the morning show host of “Jordan and Kristie.” Graybill grew up in Canton, Ohio, and worked at WDJQ-FM there after she earned her journalism degree at Kent State University, emphasizing social media management.

“Kristie is a star and a welcome addition to our diverse Fred Show family,” Fred, Host of the ‘The Fred Show,’ said in the release. “I am grateful to iHeart, and the best advertising partners and listeners in the world for their support so we can continue to grow and succeed.”

Q&A with Kristie Graybill

What inspired you to become a host?

Kristie Graybill: I really wanted to do radio specifically because of its connection with the audience. It helps that I’m obsessed with music and love sweatpants.

Who is your favorite artist and why?

KG: I love Selena Gomez. She’s said so many times before that she’s not the best singer out there, but she works hard and puts out her best quality material. She puts all of her heart into her songs and I appreciate that.

Favorite show?

KG: Schitt’s Creek. I’ve watched every episode three times already!

Any pets?

KG: I have a black cat I adopted when I first started radio, his name is Kit Kat

What are you most excited about when it comes to living/working in Chicago?

KG: I’m excited to be a part of such a legendary show. Fred has been on air for 11 years and that’s so rare to find. It’s a show that’s become ingrained in Chicago culture.

Where are you getting deep dish pizza first?

KG: I had some drinks over the weekend and ordered my first Chicago pizza, it wasn’t deep though! I’d tell you what it was but my memory is a bit vague.

Do you eat bagels like a typical St. Louisan?

KG: I have! I don’t do it regularly but it does increase the bread to cream cheese ratio so I recommend!

What’s a little-known fun fact about you?

KG: I went to clown school when I was 10 and my clown name was “twinkle Ben.”

Best thing about your first day?

KG: The support of the show was amazing. I was nervous about it but they all were so welcoming and just made me feel like I belong there!

Anything else you want to add?

KG: Just a thank you to Fred and the team for helping me make Chicago my new home!
