ALDI To Open Northwest Fresno Location This Month

The newest ALDI location in northwest Fresno is expected to open soon, according to ABC30.

The new store is located on the northwest corner of Shaw and West Avenues and is slated to open on Thursday, January 28.

Construction on the store finished around late November. A large 'Coming Soon' banner hung on an outside wall, but a firm opening date remained unknown as workers added finishing touches.

With the opening date now confirmed, the location is looking to hire employees. On their website, the new Fresno store is currently looking for full-time and part-time store associates.

ALDI operates more than 1,900 stores in 36 states. The German-based retailer opened a store in Clovis in October 2019. They also have locations in Porterville and Hanford.

The company is known for its quirks that make it slightly different than the average grocery store chain.

The store doesn't provide customers with free bags or carts to carry their groceries. They encourage customers to bring their own reusable bags or you can buy one of the store's bags or boxes at checkout.

The store's carts are chained together and need to be fed a quarter to be released. Once the cart is turned back in, the quarter is returned.
