This Is Where Tennessee Ranked Among Worst States To Raise A Family

Tennessee is among the worst places to raise a family in the United States, according to a recent study.
WalletHub ranked the Volunteer State No. 39 for its list of the best and worst states to raise a family for 2021. The website said it considered career transitions, better schools, financial challenges or a general desire to change settings as factors in its rankings.
Tennessee had a 41.05 total score and ranked 24th in "family fun," 47th in "health & safety," 31st in "education & child care," 42nd in affordability," and 21st in "socio-economics."
New Mexico ranked as the worst state to raise a family, followed by Mississippi, West Virginia, Louisiana and Oklahoma.
Massachusetts topped the list with a 60.88 total score and ranked ninth in "family fun," 10th in "health & safety," third in "education & child care," sixth in affordability," and 21st in "socio-economics."
