What Is The Real Cost Of Smoking In Kentucky?

Smoking is just as bad for your wallet as it is your health.

Wallethub did a study of the real per-person cost of smoking in each state, and the results were actually shocking.

The study ranked the states from the most-expensive smoking states to the least-expensive by calculating the potential monetary losses- including both the lifetime and annual cost of a cigarette pack per day, health care expenditures, income losses, and other costs- brought on by smoking and exposure to second-hand smoke.

So where did Kentucky fall on this list?

Kentucky came in at number 6, with a total cost per smoker being around $1,763,504.

According to the study, the out of pocket cost for Kentucky smokers is about $98,112 in a lifetime. In just a year, Kentucky smokers pay around $2,044.
