The past year has been a financial struggle for many, and so many individuals have struggles to make ends meet.

Some states are easier to live in when times are rough. States like California and New York have cities with two bedroom apartments that cost over $4,000 a month. In states like these, individuals can make tons of money and still feel poor just from the cost of living.

HomeSnacks ranked the top 10 cheapest states to live in America. The site used science and data from MIT to determine the cheapest states to call home in America.

So where does Kentucky fall on the list?

Kentucky ranked number seven on the list, which is up two spots from last year's 9th place ranking.

According to the study, here are some of Kentucky's statistics:

  • Living Wage: $51,925
  • Housing: $8,872
  • Child Care: $6,280

  2. Arkansas
  3. West Virginia
  4. Tennessee
  5. South Dakota
  6. Alabama
  7. Kentucky
  8. Ohio
  9. South Carolina
  10. Indiana
