Adele and Simon Konecki have reached a divorce settlement nearly two years after their split.
According to multiple outlets, the former couple filed their divorce agreement with the court in Los Angeles on Friday (January 22). Adele and Simon, who share an 8-year-old son, Angelo, now have to wait for a judge to sign the agreement, which will officially dissolve their marriage.
The 32-year-old singer and the 46-year-old CEO announced their split in April 2019 after seven years together. "Adele and her partner have separated," Adele's representatives said in a statement to the Associated Press at the time. "They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment."
The "Hello" singer officially filed for divorce from Simon five months later, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. The divorce filing also showed that both parties wanted joint custody and visitation of their son and planned to negotiate their custody agreement in mediation. The divorce filing also noted that they planned to use a mediator to determine spousal support and separation of their assets and properties.
Adele and Simon went public with their relationship in January 2012 and welcomed their son nine months later. The two then tied the knot in a secret ceremony in 2016 with Adele publicly addressing the wedding for the first time during an acceptance speech at the 2017 Grammys.
