The global coronavirus pandemic has left many working from home. In fact, the virus left an astonishing 62 percent of employed Americans working remotely for at least a portion of the first few weeks of the pandemic.

Even before the pandemic, however, the percentage of people who worked from home had been on the rise.

As it turns out, some places are better to work from home than others.

InMyArea released a study of the best U.S. cities for working from home in 2021.

So what's the best city for working from home in Kentucky?

According to InMyArea, Elizabethtown is the best city for working remotely in the state.

What about Kentucky's neighbors?

Here are the best cities for working remotely in Kentucky's neighbor states:

  • Ohio- Hamilton
  • West Virginia- Parkersburg
  • Virginia- Woodbridge
  • Tennessee- Morristown
  • Indiana- Greenwood
  • Illinois- Berwyn

To determine which cities were most suitable for working from home, InMyArea compared data across four areas: the percentage of a city's residents with access to high-speed wired internet, the percentage of a city's residents with access to affordable basic wired broadband internet plans, monthly rent costs, and housing cost per square meter.
