Truck Rollover Unleashes Swarm Of Honey Bees On I-35 In San Antonio

First responders in San Antonio found themselves in a sticky situation on Sunday after a semi-truck carrying thousands of honey bees rolled over.
The truck tipped over shortly before 11 a.m. on the interchange connecting I-10 and I-35 near downtown. The truck is owned by a bee removal company and was hauling boxes of bees when the accident happened.
The rollover unleashed swarms of angry bees. The San Antonio Fire Department warned nearby residents to stay inside as first responders cleaned up the bees.
Some swarms escaped while firefighters used soap and water to kill the remaining bees.
I-35 was shut down for several hours as first responders removed the insects and cleaned up the the area.
No humans were injured, and authorities told KSAT the rollover caused at least $90,000 in damages.
