The Fresno Chaffee Zoo announced that it will reopen to the public on Friday, January 29.
Indoor exhibits will remain closed but the Twiga Terrace, Stingray Bay, Sea Lion Cove, and Roo Walkabout will all be open.
With new safety protocols in place, the zoo is encouraging guests to pre-purchase their tickets online.
The zoo is also requiring all guests ages 2 and up to wear masks.
"Masks are required to be worn throughout your visit to the Zoo, except when eating in designated cafe or additional seating areas," said the zoo in their announcement.
They are also asking guests to practice social distancing during their stay and to stay home if they are experiencing a fever, cough, or sore throat.
On Monday, January 25, Governor Gavin Newsom lifted the stay-at-home orders across all regions in California.
With Fresno County back in the purple tier the zoo is able to open.
In late December, the Fresno Chaffee Zoo reached out to the public for donations to keep the zoo running during their pandemic-related shutdowns.
The zoo had been closed since early December while the San Joaquin Valley was placed under a state-mandated stay-at-home order.
