2019 Sundance Film Festival - "The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind" Pre-Screening Reception

An iconic film festival is making its return today in the midst of the global coronavirus pandemic.

The 2021 Sundance Film Festival begins on Thursday with many changes. The festival will now only be seven days, rather than the normal 11. The number of films has also been reduced from 120 to 72.

Most of this year's events will be virtual to ensure everyone's health and safety.

Options for participating in the festival online can be found on the festival's website.

Tickets for screenings are available for purchase online, and the prices are much more affordable this year with some starting at only $15. The website also houses free festival events, like panels and presentations.

There will be satellite theaters all across the country that are showing some of the films for those that want to experience in-person screenings. You can look for the locations of the satellite screenings by clicking here.

Tabitha Jackson, festival director, told IndieWire, "This whole festival feels like a prototype of sorts. It's a grand experiment."

The entire festival lineup is available on the website.
