Fresno firefighters were called out to a structure fire at a vacant home on Thursday, January 29.

When crews went into the house on the 3800 block of E. Woodward they discovered a small puppy sealed inside of a backpack.

The backpack holding the puppy was inside the room that the fire started in.

The Fresno Fire Department took to their Facebook page to recount the event and share photos of the cute puppy.

"They knocked down the fire quickly and while conducting a search of the occupancy, firefighters rescued this little girl from the room the fire was started in. She was found sealed inside a backpack," the department wrote in the post.
