PG&E has reported that thousands of customers in the Sacramento area are still without power as of Friday, January 29. Some households have been without power for three days since the storm.
CBS13 reported that as of 8:00 A.M. the number of customers in the following areas were without power:
- Sacramento: 10,029
- Stockton: 10,771
- Sierra: 3,191
Repair crews are reportedly prioritizing areas with the largest numbers of customers without power, according to a PG&E spokesperson. Those locations include areas in Yolo County, the Stockton area, the North Coast in Mendocino, and Humboldt counties, according to CBS13.
They also report that more than 90 percent of customers in Sacramento who lost power due to the storm have had theirs restored.
PG&E also says they have found over 1,000 incidents of damage where their crews will need to replace or repair infrastructure.
A spokesperson informed CBS13 that due to an outage map glitch in West Sacramento, repair times took longer than usual. Their map incorrectly reported that were no outages in the city.
The storm on Tuesday, January 26, caused chaos throughout the Sacramento area. In one incident, high winds brought down a tree onto a Mansion Flats home, nearly cutting it in half.
Heavy rains continued throughout California for the rest of the week.
