Adam Devine Almost Exploded & Other Stories On 'This Is Important'

Adam Devine, Anders Holm, Blake Anderson, and Kyle Newacheck host This Is Important, diving into significant and meaningful topics like pizza chains, cyber sex, and comparing one another’s butts. In this episode: Adam’s bachelor weekend almost turns deadly. Blake and Adam’s worst fight was about who had bigger arms. Kyle is ready for paintball anytime. They all think Primm, Nevada is the new Austin, Texas. Once in Chicago, Adam threw up in a limo and put deep dish pizza in Blake’s butt. Anders tried to get everyone a better deal with National Lampoon, but the guys betrayed him at the moment of truth. Blake and Kyle had a truly impressive energy drink collection that attracted two-foot-long rats. And when will Kyle get bored enough to provide the world with “the Zack Snyder cut” of Workaholics? Only time will tell.

Adam’s fiancee, Chloe Bridges, is out of town, and Adam has been enjoying a fine time on his own smoking weed, getting drunk, using his fireplace, and watching TV. The only problem was that his whole place stank “like rotten eggs.” He took several showers and checked “every inch of the apartment” for stray vomit (you know, just in case he missed some). Turned out, his gas stove had been on for nearly three days. The guys agree that Adam, who clearly possesses several lives like a cat, used up at least two in this incident. “Can you imagine the autopsy if you fell asleep, vomited, choked on your vomit and died, and then your house exploded?” Anders laughs. Everyone would assume it was the explosion that killed him, but the coroner would reveal the horrible truth in the end: that “he Googled ‘farts’ right before he died.”

They tell a few stories from their early days touring with the Lemmings and National Lampoon, which Kyle didn’t participate in because “they were going to pay me like $75 for five days worth of work.” At one point, they all decided to demand a higher paycheck, agreeing to hold out for $1,400 a week. But when they came in and offered $650, only Anders refused. “Everyone else was like, ‘Sounds great, let’s do this!’” he remembers. But they were young and revered the original troupe, which introduced comedy legends like Jim Belushi, Chevy Chase, and Christopher Guest. “We were Lemmings 2.0 – equally heavy hitters,” Anders jokes. Hear the entire hilarious conversation, from witnessing strangers having threesomes in hotel rooms during a Miami sunrise to playing paintball with a fanny pack full of salami on This Is Important.
