A man staying at a motel in Yolo County on his way from Portland to Los Angeles had all of his belongings stolen, according to CBS13.
Eric Leitschuck had stopped to stay at America's Best Value Inn in Dunnigan around midnight on Thursday, January 28. Leitschuck says he was making his way to Los Angeles to move closer to his kids and start a new job.
But his plans were delayed when someone drove off in his U-Haul the next morning. The moving vehicle contained everything he owned, including his BMW that was sitting on a trailer connected to the U-Haul.
"My entire life, everything that I owned, was in that U-Haul," Leitschuck told CBS13. "All my furniture, tools, art, medication, personal documents, motorcycle - I mean everything, firearms."
Leitschuck said his wallet was in the U-Haul as well. As of Friday, January 29, he was waiting in Dunnigan hoping the police would be able to track down the U-Haul.
He told CBS13 he did not have insurance on the truck and fears he will be held responsible.
On Friday night, Chico police found a stolen U-Haul truck in a gas station. However, it didn't appear to be Leitschuck's U-Haul.
