While many are still waiting to get an appointment for the coronavirus vaccine, there is another option coming to the Phoenix area that is allowing even more vaccines to be administered.

Fry's Food Stores will be getting a number of Moderna vaccine doses, and plans to increase the amount once the supply increases.

The stores will be giving out the vaccines at 50 stores across Maricopa County, and other select stores across Arizona.

Fry's has been asked to target individuals that are 75 years and older. Stephanie Spark, a spokeswoman for Fry's pharmacies, told AZ Family, "If you think about what's most convenient for that age group, it's to go to their local grocery store to get vaccinated. It is very easy to do. It's easy to do on our website."

Sparks says that the number of vaccines that the store will receive is a "fluid situation." She said, "We hope to learn more this week about allocations for next week, so as soon as we know that, we will be able to build appointments."
