The brand new Resorts World is just a few short months away from the grand opening, which is bringing in thousands of new jobs to the area.

With many being out of work due to the coronavirus pandemic, this is coming at just the right time.

Resorts World, which has been in the works for years, began the hiring process a few months ago with holding virtual interviews.

Corlice Davis, a Las Vegas resident, told 8 News Now, "I'm thinking it could be great to help out more people to be able to get a job because we are in tough times."

There are currently about 400 people employed, but the goal is to have about 6,000 employees in total a month before opening.

According to Scott Sibella, the president of Resorts World, most of the positions, like frontline workers, will be hired about 60 days before the opening. This will include positions like bar tenders, valet, and dealers.

There isn't a date set yet for the opening, but Sibella says it will be this summer. "We know we are going to open this summer, so it gives us a little leeway. We are watching what is going on with the pandemic, and we want to make sure things get better, so again, sometime this summer for sure."
