Alex Trebek's memory still lives on for his daughter, Nicky Trebek, who shared a sweet post in his honor.
On Monday (February 8), Nicki, who is Trebek’s daughter from his marriage to ex-wife Elaine Trebek Kares, posted a photo of her father pointing at the questions wall from the game show with both of his hands. "#february8 it's been 3 months and rather than post something sad I #choosejoy," she captioned the post, adding, "This always makes me laugh thinking about how many times he did that trying to get it right 😅."
Aside from Nicki, the late, great TV staple is also survived by his two other children, Matthew, 30, and daughter, Emily, 27, from his marriage to Jean Currivan.
Trebek passed away on November 8 from stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He was 80. "Jeopardy is saddened to share that Alex Trebek passed away peacefully at home early this morning, surrounded by family and friends,” a spokesperson for Trebek told press at the time. He previously shared word of his cancer diagnosis in March 2019.
After airing his pre-taped episodes in January, Jeopardy! announced a batch of rotating guest hosts, including the likes of 74-time all star champ Ken Jennings, Katie Couric, Aaron Rodgers, Bill Whitaker, Mayim Bialik, Dr. Oz, Anderson Cooper, Savannah Guthrie and Dr. Sanjay Gupta. A donation will be made to a charity of their choice equal to the cumulative winnings of their contestants on their episodes.
