Multiple people are facing charges following the bust of an alleged drug ring out of a Nashville pharmacy, including one employee at the Bordeaux location.
According to Metro Nashville Police, Dorcharika McKinney help organize the theft of more than 1,000 opiate-based bills from customers at the Charlotte Pike Walgreens pharmacy where she was employed. The 27 year old is also accused to selling some of the pills on social media.
Between November 30 and January 25, around 1,300 opiate-based pills were taken from at least 11 patients, according to court documents. WKRN reports the theft began not long after McKinney began working at the pharmacy. An arrest warrant states that McKinney would call a man, who has yet to be identified, when a patient attempted to fill a narcotics prescription. She then is accused of giving this man the patients' information that is required when picking up the pills for either himself or for him to pass along to an associate.
So far, two others are charged in connection with the operation, including Cameron Welsch and Robert Toran, who are accused of picking up prescriptions under the patients' names.
McKinney is currently facing a slew charges for her alleged role in the drug ring, including 11 counts of felony theft of identity and a felony drug charge. Welsch and Toran are facing similar charges, and additional people could be charged as the investigation continues.
