Last month, the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo announced two new additions: one male and one female Amur tiger cub, the first tigers born in Cleveland in 20 years.

Now, the tigers need names, and you can weigh in on them.

The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo put out a call on social media on Wednesday (February 10).

Help us pick the puuuuurfect name! Two Amur tigers were recently born at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. And, now we need your help to name them! Each donation will help combat illegal wildlife trade, which has threatened the species towards extinction.”

The public can vote on their names online by making a donation of any amount for the names they’d like. The donations aim to “support our efforts in conservation and combating illegal wildlife trade,” the zoo states.

Zoo officials plan to announce the selected names on social media after the donation period, which ends February 24.

Here are the options for the male tiger cub:

  • Luka
  • Ivan
  • Yuri

Here are the options for the female cub:

  • Valentina
  • Anya
  • Tatiana

“Over the past few weeks, the cubs have been bottle-fed five times a day and have been gaining weight as well as reaching developmental milestones including opening their eyes and beginning to walk,” according to the zoo. “Once they are a few months old, having gained adequate strength and fitness, they will make their home at the Zoo’s Rosebrough Tiger Passage.”
