This Western PA Bakery Is Recognized For Best Doughnuts In The State

A Western Pennsylvania bakery is being credited for having the best doughnuts in the Keystone State.

Oram's Donut Shop in Beaver Falls was included in Food and Wine Magazine's list of the "Best Doughnuts in Every State," which was published last week.

The magazine suggests Pittsburgh residents make the drive up to Beaver Falls to try the bakery's signature Cinnamon Roll doughnuts and credits Oram's as "a charming little relic."

"Plenty of people know that for the best doughnuts around, you've got to make a little bit of a drive," the magazine wrote. "If you've ever had a cinnamon roll doughnut before—which is exactly what it sounds like: two delicious things at once—chances are you've never had one as epically gargantuan as the number one seller at Oram's, in business since the 1930s. That and a selection of their classic cream-filled, with a schmear of frosting on top—they're absolutely worth a drive, and from a lot farther than Pittsburgh."

Oram's website said its been open for more than 80 years and their famous cinnamon roll doughnuts are typically twice the size of other doughnut shops.

The magazine also mentioned Federal Donuts in Philadelphia, which now has nine locations since its grand opening in 2011, on its best doughnuts list.
