Grammy-nominated Atlanta rapper Cyhi the Prynce took to social media after a chilling “attempt on my life.”

Cyhi the Prynce, or Cydel Young, shared photos of his car on Instagram after the gunshots and crash that could have ended his life.

Law enforcement officers responded to Hamilton E. Holmes Drive around 11:30 p.m. on February 11. The rapper and songwriter’s Bentley SUV was overturned, WSB-TV reported Monday (February 15).

Cyhi the Prynce escaped from his sunroof and fled into the woods after his car came to a stop.

The rapper said “somebody tried to gun me down on the highway,” in an Instagram post days after the accident. “I tried everything I could do to lose them, but they were adamant about taking me off this earth.”

“They where shooting at me while I was driving and even after my car flipped, hit a pole and crashed into a tree, they came back and shot the car up some more,” he continued. “I just want to know why and if there is anything I can do to fix the issue. I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA, and I have tremendous love for my city ... but it’s chaotic out here.”

He urged fellow Atlantans to protect themselves and called for peace, particularly among those in the music industry.

“There are (too) many lives being lost over music,” he said, adding, “It’s time to stop the violence in Atlanta…So much love to every artist, label, hustler, and crew in my city pleaseee lets resolve our problems man.”
