Yella Beezy was arrested on weapons charges on Saturday (February 13) in his hometown of Dallas, Texas.

According to TMZ, the 29-year-old rapper was driving in Dallas when cops pulled him over after he allegedly ran through a stop sign. Once pulled over, authorities searched Yella's car — allegedly after smelling marijuana — and reportedly found an unlicensed weapon.

The Dallas rapper was subsequently booked on weapon charges. Following his arrest, Yella Beezy's manager, Adrian Low Brown, told TMZ his client "told him he was driving his armored-plated, bullet-proof truck in his old neighborhood to get Valentine's Day flowers for his girlfriend when police stopped him and said he blew a stop sign." Beezy says the officers told him they smelled weed, which he says was an excuse to search his car since he doesn't smoke. Additionally, cops didn't find any marijuana when conducting their search nor did they charge him for possession.

As for the weapon they found in Beezy's car, his team says "his entire arsenal is registered."

Beezy was released from police custody on Sunday (February 14).
