Earlier this month, a Wisconsin man who survived a jaw-dropping 70-foot fall from an interstate ramp onto a highway — and he’s facing three citations for it.

Richard Lee Oliver, 34, survived the drop on February 6, shortly before 10 a.m. The preliminary investigation showed he lost control of his truck after driving up a snowbank, sending him over the barrier wall of the overpass and into the I-94 distress lane, the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office confirmed at the time.

Luckily, no one else was hurt and two bystanders stopped to help Oliver before first responders arrived.

Reports show that Oliver is now facing three traffic violations stemming from the accident.

Oliver is accused of operating while revoked, unseasonable and imprudent speed and failure to keep the vehicle in control, TMJ4 reported Thursday (February 18). The crash report shows Oliver was apparently driving more than 20 miles per hour above the speed limit, clocking in at 77 miles per hour in a 55 zone.

Oliver previously told TMJ4 that his injuries include a broken back and leg. He’s since been discharged from the hospital, but is still recovering.

Hundreds of people donated to help Oliver and his family as he recovers from his injuries. The Go Fund Me campaign raised more than $17,000 — exceeding the $10,000 goal — as of Friday morning (February 19).
