It’s the news many people have been waiting for.

The Ohio dog with special needs whose meet-and-greet person failed to show up for him last month finally started his next chapter.

Peaches Bully Rescue, a foster-based nonprofit organization in West Chester, Ohio, sought to find a home for Jack, the 9-month-old, 30-pound American Bully who came to the organization in need of emergency vet care.

When Peaches Bully Rescue shared on Facebook on January 22 that the meet-and-greet was a “no show, no call,” it went viral.

The Facebook post quickly garnered thousands of shares, comments and reactions, and even grabbed attention of national news outlets (including People, the Today Show, the Dodo and others).

"Jack and our team are so touched by the immense support and networking that this community has done," Peaches Bully Rescue shared in a follow-up Facebook post on January 26. "We have received over 600 inquiries and 200 applications for adoption which we are processing. Jack’s post has reached over 3 million people!!!! Wow!”

Requests poured in to adopt the smiley dog, wrapped in a diaper to help his incontinence caused by spina bifida.

This week, the rescue organization finally announced the one that stood out from the crowd.

On Tuesday (February 16), Peaches Bully Rescue shared the much-awaited news that Jack had a new family show up for him.

“After multiple false starts in securing his fur-ever home, this little wiggle butt was excited to start the next chapter in his life. He has a human sister to love on him, lots of toys and diapers that this gracious community donated, and a new stroller to ride around in style,” Peaches Bully Rescue shared. “We appreciate everyone who applied, offered warm wishes, donated to his care, and have shared his story. We especially thank his foster family who are dedicated to supporting him in his new home.”

Luckily, fans of Jack don’t have to say goodbye to him even though he’s moved to his “fur-ever” home.

Jack’s new family started an Instagram account for him: @the_real_jack12.

“Jack The Doggo” introduces himself to his followers in his bio: “Hi everyone. I’m Jack, an American Bully with Spina Bifida. I love rides in my stroller and my favorite toys are anything I can play tug-a-war with."

Peaches Bully Rescue also encouraged followers to keep tabs on the organization’s page for other rescues, including “another special needs pup” coming soon.
