A Coolidge man was arrested after falsely claiming that he was kidnapped just to get out of work, reported ABC 15.

At around 5:25 p.m. on February 10th, police found 19-year-old Brandon Soules near a water tower with his hands tied behind his back and a bandana stuffed in his mouth.

Soules told the police that he had been kidnapped by two men wearing masks. He said that the men knocked him unconscious and drove him around in a vehicle before dumping him out.

An investigation done by Coolidge detectives found no evidence to support Soules' story.

According to officials, when they looked at surveillance video to determine if he had actually been hit over the head and stuffed into the car, there were no signs of it being true.

Soules said he was kidnapped because his father had money hid around town, which was also false.

He was arrested on February 17th for false reporting to police. During an interview, Soules admitted to making up the story during an interview so that he could get out of going to work.

According to Coolidge police, Soules was fired from his job at The Tire Factory.
