The Boulder Police Department (BPD) has been looking for a man they say has been threatening people with a machete on two separate incidents in the city this week. They are asking for the public's help to find the suspect.

The first incident occurred on Monday, February 22, around 9:45 P.M., reports CBS4. BPD says the victim walked outside of his house and found a man hiding in his bushes. The man then pulled out the machete from his backpack, threatened the victim, and walked away.

On Tuesday, February 23, in the 2100 block of Grove Circle, a second incident involving the same man occurred.

The man was caught burglarizing the victim's home. When he was caught he pulled out the machete from his backpack, threatened the victims, and then rode away on a bicycle.

CBS4 reports that in both incidents the suspect was described as:

  • White male in his 30s
  • Short buzzcut
  • Black beard about an inch long
  • Smells like smoke
  • 5'10"
  • Weighs around 160 pounds
  • Wearing a black hat, black facemask, black skit coat, dark-colored pants, black backpack

BPD is asking anyone with information to call Boulder Dispatch at 303-441-3333. If the suspect is seen, BPD says to not approach him.
