A man called 911 and told dispatchers he shot a naked person outside a South Florida apartment complex, sources said.
The shooting happened around 8:45 a.m. Wednesday (February 24) outside Sunshine Garden Apartments at 6840 Pembroke Road in Pembroke Pines, according to the Sun Sentinel. Police responded to the scene and found the naked man on the ground and bleeding. He was reportedly take to the hospital with life-threatening bullet wounds.
Shortly after, police said a 911 call came in from a man claiming to be the shooter. Pembroke Pines Police Major Al Xiques said the man wanted to surrender himself to authorities. Officials added the self-confessed suspect was detained and is being questioned.
Multiple 911 calls came in about a nude man walking around the area before the shooting, according to reporters. Residents claim the nude man was running around the complex carrying a Bible. Destiny Williams, who lived in complex, told the Sun Sentinel she's never seen the naked man before.
“He was knocking on doors and when you open it he was like, ‘You want some of this?’ pointing to his private area. That was crazy,” she said. “He doesn’t live here. I don’t know why the hell he’d be running around with no clothes on.”
