NO MORE LINES: Arizonans Now Have Convenient Way To Renew Driver's Licenses

Many Arizona residents now have the option to renew their driver's licenses online in the midst of the ongoing pandemic, reported AZ Central.
The Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division has made it possible for Arizonans to renew their driver's licenses through the internet, rather than waiting in long lines at the DMV.
Governor Doug Ducey's executive order that deferred the renewal date of licenses that expired between March 1, 2020 and February 28, 2021 by a year has ended, prompting the change.
Some may still have to go into the DMV to make the change, however, most will be able to make the change using a computer. For example, if an individual's photo was taken over 12 years prior to renewal, an in-office visit is required.
Department director John Halikowski stated, "Most Arizonans with a standard driver license must renew their license when they turn 65 years of age and every five years thereafter. During the pandemic, ADOT wants to continue Governor Ducey's efforts to help protect our most vulnerable and we're pleased to be able to offer a contactless renewal option so people can continue making healthy choices."
Here's how to make the change online:
- Go to AZMVDNow.gov.
- Select "Renew Now" in the "My Credential" section. This section will give you directions to follow.
- Once you have completed the renewal, allow 15 days for processing and delivery.
