Emma Corrin Honors Princess Diana In Her Golden Globes Acceptance Speech

On Sunday (February 28), Emma Corrin took home the Golden Globe award for Best Actress in a TV Series—Drama for her role as Princess Diana on The Crown. During her acceptance speech, the 25-year-old actress paid tribute to the late Princess of Wales.

"Most of all, thank you so much to Diana. You have taught me compassion and empathy beyond any measure that I could ever imagine," Corrin said. "On behalf of everyone who remembers you so fondly and passionately in our hearts, thank you."

She also took time to thank her frequent scene partner from the fourth season of The CrownJosh O'Connor, who plays Diana's husband, Prince Charles. "Thank you to my prince charming, Josh, I could not have done this without you," Corrin said. She also thanked him for making every day on set "a complete joy."

Making the moment even sweeter, Corrin's co-star Olivia Colman, who portrayed Queen Elizabeth in the third and fourth season of Netflix's historical drama, was nominated in the same category for her work on the show. When Corrin's name was announced as the winner, Colman jumped out of her seat and did a happy dance.
